The Dudes Of Wrath was a one-project super group created by the producer Desmond Child, especially for the soundtrack of Wes Craven's movie “Shocker”. The line-up was legendary: Desmond Child (vocals), Paul Stanley (vocals), Vivian Campbell (guitars), Guy Mann-Dude (guitars), Rudy Sarzo (bass), Tommy Lee (drums) + Kane Roberts, Louis Merlino and Michael Anthony on back vocals! Not bad huh? The projects made 3 tracks but only “Shocker” was a proper song (“ShockDance” was based on the “Shocker” main theme anyway and “Shocker (Reprise)” was a remixed version of the “Shocker” ending theme). Being a huge horror movie fan I caught “Shocker” at the very beginning of the 90s and of course, I was thrilled to hear this track along the opening credits. I had no idea of The Dudes back then but how could I miss Paul Stanley's voice?! I loved the movie too, though I have to confess I'd rather skip it if it wasn't for the soundtrack and Kane Roberts playing a possessed construction worker ;)
Anyway, here's “Shocker”. I saw a few other bass covers and also a few versions of bass tabs online but I don't think they were correct, so... here's my version. I believe it's closer to what Rudy Sarzo really played, though, of course, I'm not sure what tuning he used back then. I just stuck with the standard one. Enjoy!
