Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig is probably my favorite festival of all time, at least among the big ones. WGT is the largest gothic festival in the world and, to be honest, I don’t want to repeat everything that is written about it in absolutely every report, so if you don’t know, just read the Wiki :)
The thing is that at one time I was at every WGT, year after year, starting from 2005. However, for the last 10 years I have not been up to it at all. And so in 2024 I returned to again plunge into the unique atmosphere... I probably wanted to repeat the feelings of the carefree beginning of the 2000s. It didn’t quite work out, but I still got a bunch of videos from the performances of various great bands.
And according to good tradition, what I liked most was not the headliners (although WELLE:ERDBALL were great and TIAMAT had not lost any energy over all these years!), but rather the avant-garde - LILI REFRAIN and TWINS IN FEAR. They truly made this festival worth the time, money and gas for me!
